The founders of The INCUS Group, Murray Leipzig and Jerry
Lee have led, advocated and mediated for all physician practice
stakeholders: practicing physicians, hospital administration,
medical school deans, payors, and PHOs. Their unique expertise
builds on a commitment to total quality management and a drive
to develop continuously improving physician practices.
Murray Leipzig
Mr. Leipzig is a seasoned health care administrator with more
than 30 years of exceptional performance in physician practice
management. Other areas of health care expertise include: hospital
turnarounds; mergers, acquisitions & joint ventures; quality
improvement & operational efficiencies; occupational health
services & workers' compensation health care delivery systems.
Prior to founding The INCUS Group, Mr. Leipzig served in various
senior leadership roles including: Chief Operating Officer of
MacNeal Health Network (western suburban Chicago); President &
CEO of MetroWest Health (Massachusetts's 6th largest health system);
Chief Operating Officer Providence Hospital (Southfield, Michigan);
and Executive Vice President of Michael Reese Hospital and Medical
Center (Chicago, Illinois).
His recent accomplishments include:
- Improving operating margins for physician practices by over
$5 million dollars.
- Growing occupational health market share to 70% penetration.
- Growing hospital /specialist spin off business by over $2
million in revenue.
- Implementing TQI processes to reduce operating expenses by
$6 million per year- earning the institution a reputation as
one of Chicago's most cost-effective institutions.
Other career highlights include leadership roles with Prince
George's General Hospital (Cheverly, Maryland), The Institute
for the Study of Health & Society and Ryan Advisors (both
located in Washington DC.)
Mr. Leipzig is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care
Executives. Additionally, he has been a visiting lecturer on Healthcare
Management at Harvard's School of Public Health. He earned his
Master's of Business Administration in Health Care Administration
from George Washington University (Washington DC) and his Bachelor's
degree from Syracuse University (Syracuse, New York.)
Jerry Lee
Mr. Lee is a health care veteran with more than three decades
of experience in labor relations, human resources, practice management,
physician recruitment, compensation, training, and staff development.
His career is hallmarked by the development of exceptional health
care human resource operations with stellar staff recruitment,
retention and development functions.
Prior to founding The Incus Group, Mr. Lee served in various senior
leadership roles including: Vice President of Marketing, Public
Relations & Human Resources for Northwestern Memorial Hospital
(Chicago, Illinois); Vice President of Human Resources for MacNeal
Health Network (western suburban Chicago); Vice President of Human
Relations at E.W.Sparrow Hospital (Lansing, Michigan)
Highlights of his career include:
- Designing and implementing a performance-based compensation
plan for all of the hospital's 4000 employees.
- De-certifying the largest health care union bargaining group
in the history of the National Labor Relations Board; Maintaining
a union-free environment for 20 years.
- Recruiting 155 physicians to primary & specialty care
network - earning the institution national recognition by JAMA
(Journal of the American Medical Society) as "The Fastest
Growing Hospital in the United States."
- Shared executive responsibility with Mr. Leipzig for the development,
operational management, physician recruitment/compensation,
staff development and financial success of a primary & specialty
network- a system comprised of 31 freestanding sites and more
than 100 physicians throughout metropolitan Chicago.
Other career highlights include labor relations experience with
Ford Motor Company.
Mr. Lee is the past chairman of the Board for the RML Specialty
Hospital in Hinsdale, Illinois. His academic background consists
of two Bachelor's degrees----one in general management from Eastern
Michigan University and the other in human resources from Ohio
State University.
